Experience the wine culture of South Tyrol where it truly belongs – at the Schmid Oberrautner winery in the heart of Bolzano-Gries. During our guided tastings, we open the doors to our historic cellar and share insights into the Gries wine-growing area, our way of working, and what defines our wines. At the centre is Lagrein from Gries – the traditional grape variety of this district, deeply rooted in the warm alluvial soils surrounding Bolzano. At the same time, with the PIWI variety Souvignier Gris, we consciously embrace a sustainable approach to viticulture and the responsible cultivation of our vineyards.

Our classic tasting, combined with a cellar tour, is designed for anyone wishing to discover South Tyrolean wines in an authentic and relaxed setting.

Personal Wine Tasting with the Winemaker

For those looking to go deeper: Every Friday between 10.00–12.30 and 2.00–4.00 pm, the winemaker personally presents and tastes the wines with you. In a calm and focused atmosphere, conversations unfold around origin, craftsmanship and the character of each wine.
